La Mostra Permanente
dell'Artigianato Salentino a Lecce

Il Consorzio Artigiani della provincia di Lecce è nato nel dicembre 1975, per volontà della locale Camera di Commercio allo scopo di tutelare l'artigianato artistico e di tradizione del Salento e di promuoverne la qualità. Il Consorzio gestisce la Mostra Permanente dell’Artigianato Salentino, situata nella centralissima via Rubichi a Lecce. In tale esposizione sono rappresentate un centinaio di botteghe artigiane che ben riproducono l’eccellenza dell’artigianato artistico e tradizionale locale in un unico spazio. Si tratta di una realtà quasi unica nel suo genere, sia per il valore dei prodotti presentati, sia per l’importanza che le istituzioni le hanno riconosciuto questi anni. Nella Mostra, che per arredo e ricchezza di oggetti è tra le più interessanti del Mezzogiorno, personale qualificato propone e vende i manufatti a visitatori e turisti provenienti da ogni dove. L’antica tradizione leccese è presente con raffinati lavori in cartapesta (natività, statuine e oggettistica di vari maestri) ed accurate forme in ferro battuto e in rame (nate, come nel passato, dalle abili mani degli artigiani, con martello e forgia). Negli eleganti locali della Mostra l’arte salentina è rappresentata anche dalla ceramica (che ha origini antichissime e centri di produzione conosciuti in ambiti nazionali), dalla pietra leccese (che ha ottenuto ovunque riconoscimenti artistici), dalle tradizionali lavorazioni in legno (intarsio, strutture, intaglio) nonché dal ricamo e dai tessuti .

 
                                                                           
 
The italian Consortium of Craftsmen of Lecce’s province has been born in 1975, for will of the Chamber of Commerce of Lecce in order to manage the Permanent Exhibition of Salento Handicraft. Draft of an only truth in its kind, either for the importance that the institutions have recognized to the job carried out in these years from the Consortium, or for the value of the products introduced from the craftsmen. In the centre of Lecce (via Rubichi 21) are represented a hundred of artisans in a "frame" just renewed. The exposure, than for furnishings and wealth of objects, is one of the  most interesting of Southern Italy. In a space in which lives the ancient tradition you'll find prestigious excellence of the artistic and traditional handicraft of Salento, such as cartapesta (small statues and objects of several masters) , forms in wrought iron (ferro battuto) and copper (borns, like in the past, from the skillful hands of the craftsmen, with hammer and forge). In the elegant premises of the Showroom,  the art of Salento is visible also with the ceramics (that has ancient origins), with the leccese stone (pietra leccese - that has obtained anywhere artistic acknowledgments) and with the traditional workings made of wood (inlay, structures, carving), embroidery and woven .
